First we tried stacking farts to create new farts. Now we’ve tried sequencing them to achieve a similar effect. The result? Mission accomplished.
Inspired by projects such as This Person Does Not Exist and our own Fart Maker we have created an interactive Fart Splicer that seeks to generate new farts by creatively sequencing existing farts. We already know that fart sounds are made up of different combinations of other fart sounds. This suggests that even random combinations of existing farts should yield new and exciting farts.
The Fart Splicer features three user-settable properties: Duration, Richness, and Texture – which we will explore below – and a Copy feature which allows newly created farts to be shared.
Duration. This value represents the maximum time of each fart to be used in the sequence of the generated fart in seconds, and defaults to 3 seconds. Values range from 1.5 seconds to 6 seconds.
Richness. The slider governs the number of farts used in the generation process. Values range from 2 to 20. Unlike with Fart Maker, we think more interesting results are achieved with a higher number of farts.
Texture. This slider controls the time range below the duration that will be used for determining which farts will serve as candidates for the generated fart. The value represents a percentage of the duration.
Copy. In order to share generated farts, press the Copy button and then paste the copied text into an email, social media post, text message, or other platform of your choice.
