Be My Valentine

Posted on February 18, 2021November 29, 2022 by P. V. Chaudhary

In order to help celebrate this past week’s Valentine’s Day we have a special contribution from long-time ICEF member IraVanDamme in the form of a poem.

Roses are red,

Violets are blue.

Doing fart research,

Is about more than just doo.

Thanks Ira.

After sharing with the college membership, SubjectS (another colleague who has made some inspired contributions to the project) noted that the poem would be vastly improved by changing “doo” to “poo”. This led to an interesting discussion about whether “doo” was even an acceptable English slang (by all reasonable accounts, it is).

At best, the membership has remained divided, though we’ll continue to expend some effort to resolve this very-important-problem. Perhaps we just require a little inspiration.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
